Blabbermouth: DRAGONFORCE Wedding Proposal

According to Scotland’s The Daily Record, heavy metal fan Richard Whyte left girlfriend Elaine Riddell speechless by jumping on to the stage at a gig to ask her to marry him.

He got down on one knee in front of a cheering crowd when DRAGONFORCE played at Barrowland in Glasgow. Richard, 21, planned the proposal after enlisting the help of band guitarist Sam Totman.

Richard said: «I have wanted to propose for a while but wanted to make it special.

«It was the perfect time to do it, though it was a little scary in front of thousands of people.

«I was a little worried she wasn’t going to say ‘yes’ so I was delighted when she did. It was the best night of my life.»

Elaine, 20, said: «I was shocked because I had no idea he was going to do it. It is a night I’ll never forget»

The couple, both call centre workers from Dunfermline, Fife, went on to celebrate their engagement backstage with the band.

They hope to wed next year.

That’s the most romantic thing I’ve ever heard.
