Me comentaba Fer que alguna de las fotos que se hicieron con su cámara en la cena del Delta habrían quedado bien ilustrando mi post sobre mujeres a la batería.
Por eso de que hace tiempo que no hablo de mujeres y a pesar de no ser el más indicado para hablar del tema, voy con otra edición de «Mujeres musicales».

Simone Simmons, la señorita de la imagen anterior, se sintió en la necesidad de decir lo siguiente en una entrevista reciente:
[…] you have two aspects of the band — the music (the CDs) and then the live side of it (the show), and part of the show is also that it has to look nice, so I take good care of myself, I make sure that the fans have something to look at during the show. I love to design clothes, to shop, put makeup, and do my hair — all that stuff I really like (well, I’m a woman so I guess all women like that). It’s a compliment that I have good looks, but there are some people who value that more than the music. For me, it’s important that they would like the music and not see me as some sex symbol or something, because I have more than that, I also have a brain! [Laughs]… I don’t have just tits and an ass… [Laughs]…
No quiero interpretar nada de lo anterior pero sí me gustaría pensar que es una persona que está cómoda ofreciendo tanto su talento como artista como su presentación. Y yo no tengo ningún problema con eso mientras ambos aspectos sean complementarios y no sustitutivos, tanto para hombres como para mujeres.
Un ejemplo: aunque un calendario con «eye-popping shots» como el señalado por Headbangers Blog no sea el mejor marco para tomar contacto con unas músicos, me parece una forma de promoción tan válida como cualquier otra, si además de la imagen tienen una producción musical aceptable en sus currículos.
